What's for Breakfast?: Smoothies!!

This is the year of the Smoothie

A Smoothie is one of Mans greatest creations. Add fruit and non dairy ice cream and it's a dessert. Add Kale, fruit, and non dairy milk and it is a healthy breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack drink.

Smoothies are a great and easy way to get your daily requirement for fruit and veggies and they can be very healthy for you as smoothies allow you to digest the whole fruit and/or veggie (the fiber is in the skin).

I have made a plan to incorporate more raw meals into my families diet and smoothies are an easy and great way to do so.

This first smoothie that I made was from an email that I received from VegNews.

This beauty is called the Green Goddess Smoothie
The recipe says that it makes 2 servings, but this is how much it actually yields (just enough for me, my hubby, and our son).

I have made this smoothie every morning this past week and my family really enjoys it. My son is getting used to drinking something else besides non-daily milk and water (especially a drink that is green), but he can't resist the fruit taste.

I will be scouring the web for more healthy vegan smoothie recipes.

It's smoothie time :-)

  1. LOVE this idea. I love the idea of raw, it just rarely sounds appealing to me, a smoothie, on the other hand, is DELICIOUS!

    1. I agree with you on that one, although I had a raw chocolate pie that was very good one time. I am trying to take my diet to the next level so I have to try new things :-)

    1. I have never heard of Maca powder, but I will find it so that I can try it out on my family. Smoothies have become a morning staple for me as well. Fresh and raw fruits and veggies are a great way to start the day.
